Welcome back to Haven Church, Gorran Haven

Welcome to our website

IMPORTANT NOTICE:   From 8th August 2020 the wearing of face coverings in churches is a legal requirement.  Please ensure you bring your own mask.  We also have disposable masks available in the foyer should you require it.

For the time being we are only holding services on Sundays at 11am and 5pm  The evening service is a repeat service.

If you are thinking of visiting us then there are some changes in place because of the current Covid-19 situation.

  • Face masks/gloves/hand gel/wipes/towels are available for use.
  • Handouts will be given to you outside.  Please don't take any Bibles/hymnbooks.
  • Why not bring your own Bible?
  • Please keep to 2m distancing where possible although 1m+ will suffice.
  • Rows are adequately spaced but you will need to leave at least one empty chair between individuals/"family bubbles".  Further instructions for movement inside the building will be given to you on your arrival.
  • There will be music and recorded singing but no "live singing" for the moment.
  • CCTV overflow of the services is available in our upstairs room for those able to use the stairs.
  • For track and trace purposes we shall need to keep a record of those who attend services or enter the church through the week.  Don't worry - all records will be destroyed after the 14 day period.
  • Chairs, door handles, switches etc will be sanitised between services.
  • Details of leaving the church will be given on the day

We want to make it as easy, comfortable, safe and healthy as possible for everyone. We are sure that, with everyone's co-operation, we can make this work, to the glory of God and to the blessing of his people.

You can find out more about us by using our Who We are and What We Believe pages.

Our Youth groups page gives details of our three groups - "Little Stars" Toddlers (from birth to pre-school), "Blaze" covering Yrs R-5 and our older group "Chillout" from Yr6 onwards.    Sadly our groups are not meeting for the foreseeable future but keep an eye on this website and our Facebook page for changes.

Our Support of Others page gives a brief account of those we support as a church.  This includes our own members Jason and Andrea Murfitt with their 3 children, Lucy, Lola & Mikey.  We also support John & Paula Richards in the Philippines and a young family working in Asia.

If you are thinking of visiting Cornwall and are in need of accommodation then please see our Accommodation page for details of places to stay.

The weekend of 8th - 10th May saw Gorran Haven celebrate with us a virtual VE75 Celebration. All the virtual events from the Last Post to the Thanksgiving Service, from the VE75 Teatime Celebration to Battle's O'er, the competition winners & some genuine wartime recipes are all here!

A Time For War & A Time For Peace

We have produced a leaflet which tells a little of the story of how World War Two impacted one family in Gorran Haven and touches on some of the themes of Geoff's message in the VE75 Thanksgiving Service. Details of how to receive a copy are here.
